Work smarter, not harder, with manual therapy for the foot & ankle, save your hands and transform your results!
Why take this free course?
Many manual therapists feel confident treating an ankle injury, but when it comes to the foot, they often find it challenging, confusing, intimidating, and frustrating! The foot is complex, so it’s not surprising that you might feel your knowledge and skills may be lacking in this area. But don’t worry! I’ve spent most of my career figuring it out and am still learning new insights.
I aim to make the complex seem simple by applying a systematic process to your assessment and treatment of the foot that helps you understand how the foot works and how to treat it with manual therapy and exercise.
This course is delivered in three parts in e-book format with video demonstrations to your inbox.
This free introductory course will enable you to achieve three quick wins to transform foot function!
What you will learn:
Manual therapy can be hard work, but it doesn’t have to be!
It’s essential to consider how you work to protect your hands and body and save energy to ensure you enjoy a long and rewarding career!
In Part 1, you’ll learn how to:
- protect your hands and body
- save your energy with a ceramic spoon
- develop strategic troubleshooting of soft tissues that may limit movement
- use a low-level laser to treat myofascial trigger points quickly, efficiently, and painlessly
- perform an effective myofascial release
- perform gentle and targeted joint mobilisation
In Part 2, you’ll apply the skills and techniques you learned in part 1 with live case study videos.
You’ll learn how to:
- perform pre-treatment functional tests
- assess three critical movements for foot function
- understand possible mechanisms of injury
- troubleshoot the soft tissue structures limiting each movement
- restore each movement quickly and easily
- perform post-treatment functional tests
- prescribe exercises to maintain mobility
You’ll achieve three quick wins that will enable you to transform foot function!
In Part 3, we complete our case study, where you’ll discover a commonly missed saphenous nerve entrapment that affects the knee, leg, ankle, and foot.
you’ll learn how to:
- identify the entrapment sites of the saphenous nerve
- locate the muscles and their trigger points which impact the saphenous nerve
- use a low-level laser to treat the trigger points and nerve entrapment sites
- perform gentle myofascial release
- prescribe exercises to maintain mobility
With a soup spoon, a magic wand (low-level laser), my hands, and some detective skills, that’s all I need to achieve great results fast! Let me show you how.

Robyn Gant’s courses are essential knowledge for all health professionals. The clearly presented, practical information informs those who wish to go the next step toward a detailed, thinking practitioner’s approach to excellent client care. I recommend her courses to all my staff and colleagues.
A very concise & thorough online course on the ankle & foot. It certainly got me excited about the foot again & wanting to do more of the courses. Robyn is highly knowledgeable & also a great presenter, lots of take away points to be put into immediate clinical practice. Have already got my staff doing this course.

Routinely performing a quick assessment of the three critical movements of the foot and learning how to restore these movements, has taught me an easier new way to understand and restore mobility to the foot. Learning how to release the sesamoids and mobilise the great toe has helped a lot of my patients. I would certainly recommend this course.
I look for the “bigger picture” more carefully now. Less of the presupposed thinking and answers and broader scope of tissue and nerve involvement in symptom presentation. Am now routinely checking for a locked lateral column and am using the laser more for trigger points to restore mobility.

I found applying Robyn’s systematic approach, rather than just area the area of pain as indicated by the client, to be very revealing. The assessment and treatment techniques of foot mobility were immediately visible for the client, as are the changes produced, which inspires confidence and engages the client in the process. Using the laser to release trigger points and cross frictional massage for tendon insertion points has been incredibly helpful. This course helps to solidify parcels of previously learnt but not integrated material into a cogent whole. It enables the practitioner to be more effective with the very first client seen after the course and produces an ‘I’ve got this’ attitude in the therapist.
